Book Stuff: Book Tour Part One

Posted by Mike on June 2, 2006

For a book to sell people have to know about it. That’s why authors go on book tours. It’s all about publicity - TV and radio interviews - Newspaper coverage - Book store appearances - Readings - Signings. To add spice to my tour I asked some friends in the Outlaw Family Band, a Chicago based bluegrass/rock group to back me up in the midwestern markets. This is the first installment of a video diary about that tour, starting with a TV interview in Chicago and then a reading and signing session in my hometown of Winnetka, Illinois. The next morning I was off to New York City for a Today show appearance and then on to California. This is just the beginning.

i treasured every sentence in this book…..i could not stop reading the book, but at the same time i didn’t want it to end. it was way too short.

both my very irish-american catholic parents have died, so on my own, and without any ability to lrgally do so, i’m adopting moose and spoose to be my parents. they don’t completely remind me of my parents but mike’s childhood and mine had remarkable similarities.. down to the discarded food lodged in our dining room table. (amazingly the “stuffed” meatloaf stayed in place for the 3 years it was in storage when my dad’s army assignment took us overseas).

if i ever find myself in arizona, i’m going to drop in on moose and spoose and say hello!
